"New York's Monuments Commission for the battlefields of Gettysburg and Chattanooga. Final Report of the Battlefield of Gettysburg". Vol. III only. pub by J. B. Lyon Company in 1902
This book is vol. 3 of 3 volumes dedicated to the regiments of New York that participated in the battles of Gettysburg and Chattanooga. I believe this particular volume to be of Gettysburg. It had historical data, such as historical sketches of the different regiments regarding their formation, location, place and date. It tells of how many were buried and where as well as details of the battle. This is of great interest to historians regarding the role of New York in the war. It is a thick book with 527 pp. It is illustrated with photos and has some extremely nice engravings of New York Generals. A very rare book indeed. Offered here for a low price with no reservation. The Boards are damp stained and the end blank pages are in bad shape but the pages that have text are in good shape. The inside of the book is fine. It is solid. It actually needs some minor cleaning up is all.
